Educational Media Definion

Luckily Eugene Smith

known for his portraits of elements of cultural and social reality People, cities and events, at first as an exponent of photojournalism, and later as creator of so-called photo essay. Of all his works, the most important and surely made him more famous, was the report he made about Spain, specifically about a town called Deleitosa Extremadura. There, as in all, the photographer had an extraordinary sense of mission as he himself noted: My aspiration is to capture the action of life, the life of the world, its humor, its tragedies, in other words, life just as it is. A picture truly, really, without poses. There are already a farce and deception in the world to go pretending life. If you photograph a beggar, I want you to see the anguish that reflects their view, in a steelworks I look for the symbol of strength and power in it. If you intend to portray a happy person, I want a smile of pure joy, not a smile for the camera. I can hardly express in words my feelings, my attitude towards photography. I do not do pictures for the sheer pleasure of it, but like many of the old masters of painting, I want to symbolize something.
